Easton Community Access Television is committed to providing hands-on, challenging and direct experience through our internship program. ECAT is a small yet busy environment located in beautiful North Easton, Massachusetts. We are a community TV station and community-based organization on the leading edge of hyperlocal technology. Our internship program expects a commitment of 10 - 15 hours per week over a 12 week period.
Digital Archivist Internship
This position focuses on the digital preservation of images and movies of Easton’s history. This internship will work with both ECAT and the Easton Historical Society to scan, convert and catalog an impressive backlog of artifacts that compose the rich history of Easton, Massachusetts. History, Computer Science, Communication majors encouraged to apply.
Broadcast Journalism Internship
This internship is for students who are interested in getting a hands-on practical experience of using media to hone their craft in telling stories. Projects consist of producing weekly news packages of short videos pieces that spotlight the people, places, and events o Easton using ECAT’s high-end video production equipment and facilities. These short vignettes appear as part of a bigger local access news and the web. Journalism, Communication majors encouraged to apply.
Open source Web Builder Internship
This position will bring you into the fusion video and the web. This opportunity will assist ECAT in helping to advance our delivery of video content within our open-source Drupal CMS platform. The kit has been implemented in Easton and the site is growing. Oversee the documentation and production of a series screencasts related to the development of this innovative software technology. Computer Science, Management majors encouraged to apply.
Visual FX Wizard Internship
Our interns are creators. They will assist with video editing and animation using Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut X. This is ripe opportunity to build and develop a portfolio while also flexing your creative muscle and working in a collaborative environment. Film Festival Coordinator Internship
